Bumps without dropping the machine

When the screen is shut down very harshly this protection does not help I think because my harddisk is now almost dead.

This just saved me. Wow. I bumped into my recliner and the thing shot open, kicking my tv dinner table over that had my laptop on it, and my laptop slammed into the tile. I notice my laptop wasnt sitting flat anymore so I turned it over and freaked out; something popped out and I rushed to google and typed in the name printed on the panel. It told me it was a safety device so I was really relieved. I just popped it back in and I am set! Thanks HP for doing SOMETHING right (: !
