Found this very useful. I'm a novice with a laptop and just got wireless at home. Now I have to figure out if I have the built in feature for wwan. I bring my laptop on trips and would love to use in on those long car rides.

I am still a novice with most pc lingo. I was looking for information to explain about WiFi and how it works. I have a HP Laptop (which Im thrilled with!) so I checked the HP Store for info. Lo and behold, HP had just the information I was searching for (& couldn't find anywhere else- especially in everyday laymans understandable terms!) I am EXTREMELY thankful for the info and help that HP has provided. I have only praise for the craftmanship of my HP laptop! I shall return to this HP site more often now that I've found how easy and informative it is!!! Thank you HP!!!!

Thanks for the information provided, but I would have hoped finding a link or shortcut to a demonstartion of how to use a 3G connection. My notebook is equipped with a built-in 3G simcard slot, and I am struggling getting any connection using WWAN. It is not staraight forward in my case. Any help on this will be much appreciated

Very clear but what you did not say is what I discovered is you can just pop in your SIM card and away you go so simple only for emergency needs

I have not made a purchase yet. Technology is moving so fast that I cannot keep up. I am a retired telephone manager who cannot afford to make a purchase that is not user friendly. Your explanation has made it very easy for me to understand. I always take the time to read and compare products but I get lost with all the jargon and terms that I do not know. When I retired broadband was use for transmitting high speed data and wireless was new. This is a great help.

I READ ABOUT THE WWAN CONNECTIONS. I ALSO SIGNED UP A FEW WEEKS AGO WITH ATT. WELL AFTER READING THE 17 PAGE CONTRACT. IT TURNS OUT THAT CONNECTIVITY IS NOT GUARRENTEED. I CAN SEE THAT. BUT TRY TO GET INFORMATION FROM ATT. AFTER YYOU SIGN THE CONTRACT, ITS YOU,LL HAVE TO TALK TO THIS OR THAT ONE, NOT TO BE BOTHERED. IN THE CONTRACT, THE CONSUMER MUST ADD ON WHAT-EVER ATT CHOOSES. SO I HAVE NO SAY WHAT-SO-EVER IN WHAT I NEED OR WANT. WHY WAIT TO OBTAIN A BILL WITH WHO KNOWS WHATS GOING TO BE ON IT. SO I IMMEDIATELY CANCELLED IT. JUST THINK 17 PAGES OF DO,S AND MAKE SURE YOU DON,T,S. BUT ASK A QUESTION? NO ANSWERS. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INPUT. IT HAS MADE IT MUCH ESIER FOR ME TO LOOK MUCH DEEPER INTO THIS SUBJECT. THATS NOT CONVIENENT, ITS ROBBERY.
