On the Pavilion H8 desktop it does sound stunning...I 've been reading some of the negative comments on this page about beats.
Laptop speakers are a basic provision , but for real sound quality you have to hook up external speakers for the full sound
The better the speaker system, the better the sound enhancement from BEATS.

Beats and SRS disappointed me..
Date:February 8, 2012
Well, I got two notebooks from HP.
First I acquired a 14.1" HP Pavilion notebook with SRS "Premium" sound, and it came with a defect on the speakers, I returned it to them to fix it, they fixed the problem, yet the sound was awkard and impossible to listen to from the lil' speakers, even when I plugged in my SkullCandy headphones, the SRS "Premium" CP EQ, didn't provide a decent sound.
The second one is an HP Pavilion dv6t Quad Ed. with Beats Audio. Even though it says they're HP Triple Bass Reflex speakers with subwoofer, they have no bass at all, even my old 2007 14" Asus has better sound. The Beats Audio CP doesn't help much, and I discovered that it is just a skinned IDT / Realtek generic HP audio software, there are no "Beats" at all.
I don't know why the sound in these laptops is called "Premium", most other brands offer better laptop sound, the only thing I can say it's that I am very disappointed with HP and that they could have done better.

Very Disappointing

I was expecting something close to Bose. Bose makes tiny speakers with amazing sound..- This is definately no comparison. Unfortunately, I agree with the others....This is no better than my 5-year-old Dell
