Great Sound
Date:December 17, 2011
This is my first laptop purchase from a desktop after many years on a desktop with 5.1 Dolby external speakers. I can tell you that although my external desktop speakers are awesome, I bought this laptop because of the sound and hardware components. I tried probably 30 different laptops and this 17" HP laptop with beats is the best of the laptops. Most sound tinney and small. This has big sound. I cannot say the 15.6" laptop was as good in the store. Originally I liked the all-in-one for the sound, but all in the under $1000 price range were low end hardware components. This was the best blend of hardware and speakers I found.

Beats

I don't get it. Beats audio is flat. Have to go to my desk top Sony standard speakers to enjoy the music. Will prob install ext speakers in the future to my HP laptop.

All hype

Don't purchase a laptop with Beats as part of the criteria. It's nothing special: doesn't sound any better than any other laptop I've owned. Sorely dissapointed after all the hype.

The best

I just purchase an HP laptop with the beats software and I'm so impressed with the clarity of the music. Even my salsa oldies have some amazing sounds I never where able to hear.
