"I am a faithful user of HP products, dating back to the RPN calculators I used in college in 1992, but my Probook 4440s has been a major disappointment. It didn't even work when I took it out of the box. It shipped - brand new - with a failed power supply. HP replaced the power supply for free, and it worked for three months, but now the hard drive has failed. What a piece of junk."

Review 2 for HP ProBook 4440s Notebook PC
Good product to use for work
Date:July 19, 2012
"I have been using the Probook 4440s for a week now. So far it has performed up to expectation. The model I'm using has an Intel Core i5 3210M, 4GB RAM, 500GB 7200rpm and a 9 cells battery. The security feature such as finger print reader and face recognition works fine. The keyboard is comfortable with nice key travel. Actually it's one of the best 'island style' keyboard that I had ever use. However, the touchpad needs a little bit of getting use to since it is not as sensitive as the touchpad in my previous HP laptop. The build quality is good for a business laptop in this price range. The aluminium casing feels good to the touch. I did not have the chance to fully drain the 9 cells battery, but after using the laptop for almost 7 hours installing software and transferring data from my previous laptop, the battery meter indicated that there is enough power for another 4+ hours. The laptop did not get hot even after prolong use. Therefore, you can use it comfortably on your lap. The fan also is very quiet, but the speaker is loud, which is a good thing if you like to watch movie or listen to some music while working. Just don't expect deep bass from the speaker. In general, this is a good option for those looking for a laptop to use for work and some entertainment."
